Caprice Cayetano Advances to PBB Ultimate 8, Highlights Family Story of Young Parents and Michelin-Recognized Chef Father
Feb. 24, 2026 — Quezon City, Philippines — Caprice Cayetano, the 17-year-old Filipino actress dubbed “Ang Demure Daughter ng Quezon City,” advanced to the Ultimate 8 finalists of Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 on Sunday, gaining widespread attention for sharing her unique family background during her stint on the reality show.
Cayetano, a former child star known for roles in GMA series such as Kambal, Karibal, Mulawin vs. Ravena, Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko, Prima Donnas, and Cruz vs. Cruz, introduced her parents early in the competition. On Day 12, she proudly spoke about them during housemate introductions, as covered by ABS-CBN.
Family Background
Cayetano’s parents, Chef Jorge Mendez and Eve Mendez, had her when they were teenagers—her father at age 15 and mother at 17. With help from grandparents, they continued their studies while raising her, though prohibited from seeing each other until earning their degrees.
During Chef Mendez’s visit to the PBB house, he shared:
“hindi po sya naging sagabal do’n sa gusto naming mabuong buhay“
meaning Caprice was not an obstacle to the life they wanted to build. Cayetano described their close age gap as “Parang magkakatapid lang,” likening them to cousins.
Father’s Culinary Career
Jorge Mendez serves as Executive Chef and Creative Director at the CIBO restaurant chain, founded by the late Margarita Forés. He owns Mōdan Japanese restaurant, Michelin-Selected in the 2026 Guide, and Some Thai, a Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient. Preview honored him in its Creative 25 in 2024.
